Content authoring tips

Objective : As a customer you get most out of EduBrite platform.

  • Course content: All content which you upload in lessons, gets converted to an intermediate PDF format (unless you upload the PDF directly). This conversion from Word / Powerpoint to PDF sometimes does not match the original content (when done automatically by EduBrite) in preserving the formatting/color/fonts. If you experience this issue, an alternative approach is to export your word or powerpoint file to PDF and upload it, instead of uploading the Word/Powerpoint.
  • Video content: While you can use any FLV or MP4 file for lesson video and upload from the course editor, make sure to follow the encoding guidelines about the frame-rate (<=15 fps), bit rates (<=500kb/sec) and window size (<= 640×480). Note that if you have MP4 file which is not h264 encoded (you can have MP4 with different video encodings), it would not work. Convert it to h264 before uploading.
  • HD Video: You can upload your SD videos of upto 180M from the course editor in your microsite and EduBrite serves them in streaming format. But for very large videos and high quality (HD) videos we recommend to utilize specialized video streaming services and integrate those videos in your courses. EduBrite integrates any third party video service and you can point your video lesson to these external sources easily in the course editor. Read more about how you can use Vimeo or Amazon Cloudfront to host your protected videos and use them in your courses.
